Men Unplugged Podcast

As the catalyst to the Men Unplugged ministry, the Men Unplugged podcast provides life lessons on faith, living as a man of God, being a dad, a husband, living your God-given purpose, and as a faith-driven entrepreneur. Whether it's through my own content, or through interviews with top Christian leaders, the primary goal of the podcast is to help men and their families IGNITE their faith, and SUCCEED in life.

Christmas Lights by Design

Since 2001, I've owned and operated Christmas Lights by Design. Initially, I launched this small business so I could just get by, to provide a source of income as I was unemployed at the time.

With hundreds of repeat customers later, what started out as a desperate way to earn extra money, Christmas Lights by Design has been a huge blessing to my family and I. With 7 design awards later and experience running a small business, I've learned that you can only go as far as your processes, services, and team will take you.  It has taught me that facing your fears and perseverance are paramount when it comes to your own personal development.

In addition to owning and operating a Christmas lighting business, I train aspiring entrepreneurs, side hustlers, and existing business owners how to start and grow a successful Christmas lighting business through my Christmas light training course, Christmas Lights for Profit, and live Christmas light training.

My Personal Story

From 1996 to 2000, I was severely depressed with suicidal thoughts everyday.  To make matters worse, I was laid off from my telecom job at a Fortune 500 company in September of 2000. Although I didn't know it at the time, those 4 years were the best thing that ever happened to me.

My painful depression prompted me to seek help.  It led me to the greatest thing I ever heard—the gospel. My salvation in Jesus Christ kickstarted the amazing journey I'm on now.  Since then I've become a husband and father, written several books, built several successful businesses, created online courses, earned a graduate degree, served as a pastor and adjunct professor, as well as host the Men Unplugged podcast. And with God's help have impacted hundreds of thousands of people around the world.

I'm still not where I want to be. Not even close!

However, I know that as I keep pushing forward, seeking godly wisdom, and serving others first, the team and systems I put in place will continue to impact others for good.

When I was young, I dreamt of owning a yacht, having a garage filled with expensive sports cars, and living on the beach (okay, I'm still hoping for that one).

But now, I'm working towards someting else—to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Hopefully, with the Lord's help I do that, whether that's through my books, courses, coaching, speaking, podcast, and YouTube channels.

Ultimately, my mission is to help individuals strengthen, share, and live out their faith with passion and confidence.

Jeff's Guiding Principles

I have a few guiding principles to keep me focused on what really matters. Especially since there are so many things—today—that can cause you to lose your way, fast.

Whether success or failure, I don't want to look back on my life and have any regrets. At the very least I want to say I tried, I gave it my best, and I didn't quit regardless of the outcome.

I don't want to just be happy by what the world says (success, riches, fame, etc). I want my happiness to mean more, something more fulfilling—I want to be defined by who I become and who I impact.

Regardless of the task, however difficult or easy, failure is not an option. I want to know that I faced my fears, gave it my best, and learned something in the process. For when I am able to apply those lessons in my life and the lives of others, then I will truly be successful.
